Don’t Compare Yourself To Others

Don’t compare yourself to others. Your path is unique, as is theirs.

There will always be people ahead of you, but most of the time, they have put in years of work that leading up to today. Overnight successes take a long time to manifest.

Focus on the things that you do best. There are many paths to success, and they’re not all identical. Every experience you have had has given you unique skills and perspective.

Play to your strengths. It’s okay to work on your weaknesses, but don’t make them the focus of your business.

If you wish to reap rewards in the future, start sowing now. You must also keep watering what you have sowed until your harvest arrives. Plant early and often, so you have more chances to bear fruit.

Always treat people with dignity and respect. Be kind to people, regardless of stature. People remember your demeanor and actions, whether they are good or bad.

Be thankful that others have gone before you, because you can learn from their paths. How difficult would it be to build your business if no one had made a path and paved the way before you started? Information is there for those who look for it and are willing to learn from others.

Don’t resent your competitors for their success. Instead you should be thankful that you have the fierce competition that you do.

This competition means that the market you have chosen for business is proven. Reassess if you appear to be the only business in your space. Absence of competitors either means you are first to the space, or the field is drying up.

You should also be thankful for your competitors, because they have given you lessons of how to succeed. By analyzing their path, you can make your path a bit easier.

Thanks to them, you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Imagine how hard that would be!

Do not let setbacks dishearten you. The journey is what is important. Settle into it, and do not be impatient for the reward. Focus on each day as it comes.

Follow your fear.

Humans have a tendency to limit themselves, and that fear is the largest barrier to achieving your goals. If you believe in yourself, and you take the actions necessary to succeed, it’s only a matter of time until reality aligns with your thoughts and actions.

Being a business owner or entrepreneur is not easy. That’s why very few people choose that path. It will drain you and frustrate you, but it will also elate you.

People want to pay you for what you create. That blows my mind every day.

Walking this path means you are carving out a living for yourself in a hostile world. You are empowering yourself.

So don’t waste another second worrying about the success you perceive other people enjoying. Those experiences are for them.

You have a fantastic journey of your own that is unfolding before you. Be present in your own daily success.

You are getting closer to your own goals every day, even if it doesn’t always feel that way.

Don’t fall into the trap of self-hatred.

You can do great things if you keep putting one foot in front of the other. I will see you on the other side.
